Workshop 8: Evaluation and Dissemination

Aims

For this final workshop we would like to get feedback about the draft project outputs and produce a short reflective summary of your experiences in creating your e-assessments.

Below is a PDF version of the outputs for you to read – if you can read it before the workshop that would be great. At the workshop we will provide paper copies of the outputs as well – many people like to annotate and draw on paper when doing this kind of thing – if you want to bring along your own paper copies with notes etc. then please do.

Getting your feedback about the outputs at this early stage will be extremely useful to help us get this right in the final version. So, in the programme we have allowed about 45 minutes for reading over the outputs and making any notes and questions. This will be followed by a roundtable discussion about the outputs and any changes / additions / deletions you would like to see. That should take us up to lunch.

After lunch we would like to capture a final set of reflective statements from you about the experience of developing your e-assessments and ideally, if you are willing, to create a short audio recording that summarises this. We propose to do this by recording an informal conversation with you that uses the bullet points below to structure the recording. This will help to make the outputs more ‘authentic’ and give us a very handy short narrative to work into the case studies. We will edit the recordings and send them to you for review before releasing them. We will need you to sign a simple ‘release form’ to get your permission to do this as you own the legal rights to the content of any audio or video recording that you participate in – not your employers.

The bullet point list below provides a rough script for us to talk about:

Reflective Summary – bullet points (you can add more if you wish)

  • The existing assessment
  • What you decided to change and why?
  • How things went (good and bad)
  • What you have learned
  • What would be your advice to others / What would you do differently?
Final Survey

At some point during the workshop, we will ask you to complete the ‘distance traveled’ survey. This is a slightly amended version of the questionnaire you completed at the outset of the project and should give the project team an indication of how successful the project has been in furthering your e-assessment skills and knowledge.
